Nice France Study Abroad

Residential French Immersion
French Studies in the Arts, Language, Culture, Sports and Recreation

A dazzling coastline stretching from Nice to the small harbor town of Beaulieu-sur-Mer exemplifies the best of the French Riviera. The bay of Villefranche, the dramatic cliffs of Mount Boron, and the forested peninsula of St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat form what the locals call the "Golden Triangle."

Each day on our Nice residential program is an exciting opportunity to experience Southern French culture at its finest: Our students stroll though the city’s famous Promenade des Anglais on their way to morning classes, practice their French while ordering refreshments in one of the many outdoor cafés and restaurants along the vibrant Rue de France, and blend in with the locals as they browse the open-air markets of the city’s Old Town district during afternoon activities.

This immersive daily schedule combined with an authentic residential living experience allows high school students to become part of the local community and build vital pre-college skills. Weekend excursions, recreational activities and events help them to broaden their knowledge of French culture, explore new interests, and build lasting friendships.

All students are enrolled in the daily French Language course as their program major. The experiential nature of the course takes students out of the classroom and into the community thus allowing them to practice their French in real settings. Students are placed in the appropriate level upon arrival. In addition to their French Language major, students select one of the following options to serve as their tri-weekly elective. Advanced students may sign up for university courses when offered. University schedules and course options are made available during the spring by special request.
• Riviera Sports and Games (elective)
